Megan offers comprehensive education for cello, violin, and viola students of all ages and experience levels. She offers online lessons through TakeLessons or in person lessons in her home studio in Overland Park, KS. Megan utilizes a blended teaching methodology of traditional string pedagogy technique, Suzuki method and Kodály method to help students achieve the best possible results. As a lifelong student of music, Megan constantly aims to adapt lesson plans and goals to help students evolve throughout their musical journey.

THEORY

As houses need strong foundations to stand, so do students need music theory to thrive. The study of the practices and possibilities of music can make the difference between a good and a great musician. Megan offers wide ranging music theory and aural skills education, using student's natural strengths to take their musicianship to the next level. Megan offers expertise in Advanced Placement (AP) Music Theory preparation for high school students, using techniques and knowledge she used to achieve the highest score possible. Whether you are learning basic skills to supplement string performance or are looking for chord analysis and composition, Megan can assist every step of the way.

Live music elevates any gathering and creates an unforgettable experience. Megan offers performance services for weddings, graduations, dinner parties or any occasion, that is guaranteed to set your event apart. Quartet or accompanied performances are most common, however, solo cello performances are available upon request. With 15 years of cello performance experience, Megan has a large repertoire selection to suit any moment. 

Megan performs regularly with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra. Their concerts can be found on the link below or on the KCCO website.
